As part of my graphics independent study, I decided to make a sort of awareness amongst my fellow peers, classmates, and strangers who frequent the men’s restroom on the second floor. It seems that there is a trend to not dispose of your waste in the way of “flushing” but rather to leave it for the next poor soul to experience. My reaction was to post a simple reminder for users as they leave.

The effect was successful. In the following days and week (as the tape did leave a bit of residue on the door, resulting in a “YO”) I noticed a increased amount of clean/flushed urinals. It was also fun to see the reactions of the users. Especially when the ladies heard and wanted to see for themselves.

Unfortunately, the installation was removed on Tuesday of that week (I put it up the Friday night/morning before). I was a little frustrated with this as I talked with the facilities manager about this and he had no problem with it. But it was no surprise. I am glad that it touched many.
